Leyr joins Nordic healthcare hackathon to improve care for patients with multiple chronic diseases
Leyr has had the privilege of being invited to participate in a Nordic hackathon, arranged by Stockholm University, Karolinska Institute, and Health Data Sweden.
The hackathon aims to find solutions to improve care for patients with multiple chronic diseases by enhancing healthcare interoperability.
Approximately 20 innovative companies in healthcare and healthtech have been invited to participate and contribute their specific knowledge. The first workshop was held last week, with the goal of defining user stories that will demonstrate concrete examples of how interoperability can improve healthcare outcomes.
The next step will be another workshop to define a conceptual model for transferring specific data points between different systems involved in patient care. The hackathon is focusing on the OpenEHR and FHIR standards.
“As a doctor, I've seen firsthand how patients with multiple conditions fall through the cracks in healthcare. It's crucial for these patients that their data is available and up-to-date. It's a privilege for Leyr to be invited, and we're excited that both Cambio and TietoEvry are contributing their platforms to this hackathon, emphasizing how collaboration is key to achieving interoperability that benefits both patients and healthcare providers.” says Helena Holma, CEO at Leyr.
The hackathon itself will take place in March 2025, and the results will be presented at Vitalis, the largest e-health conference in the Nordics, in May.
